Prince of Wales Mine Trail

The Prince of Wales Mine hike is a very simple, moderate hike.  The trailhead is across the road from Alta ski resort up Little Cottonwood canyon.  The trail is pretty flat with a few rock sections.  The trail starts off walking through some sections of trees then opens up onto a road.  There are some great views of Alta ski resort as your begin your ascent. The trail ends with some mine shafts that are closed off with some steel bars.  The openings in the bars are pretty narrow, but maybe small enough for a small child to fit through.  There is also some abandoned mine equipment.  The view at the end of the trail is beautiful as you can look out over a valley and see lots of color,...
