Rappel 2
Length: 124 ft
Coordinates: 38.593396,-109.508862
Rappel 2 Anchor
There are now bolts and chains to help minimize rope grooving, on the wall, near the edge of the drop. Use these instead of the bush that was the old anchor.
Overview
Just a hundred yards from the chamber rappel is the second and final rappel. Enjoy a free-hanging rappel, all the way to the bottom of the canyon floor. This is a unique and majestic rappel as you go through Morning Glory Arch.
Tips
Morning Glory Arch is highly visited by hikers, so DO NOT throw your ropes/rope bags down. Lower them instead.

Medieval Chamber Canyon Trip Reports
November 27, 2020
On this trip, there were 5 in our group and it took us just almost 4 hours to complete from our drop-off vehicle to our exit vehicle. We were traveling at a leisurely pace with a break between rappels one and two for a lunch that we packed. The weather was cool and required a light jacket (a thicker jacket may be nice at this time of year for those who get cold easily). On a normally busy Grandstaff Canyon Trail, there were only a few people on the exit, so it made for a nice peaceful canyoneering trip. The anchors were all in good shape. There is poison ivy along the trail out, so just keep an eye out for that.
